Seeking a Promotion

Many employees will sit for months even years perhaps without asking for promotions they feel are due them. They stew silently or openly amongst friends about not being recognized, when one who has been working at the company only a few months is. Most will not voice their concerns or issues, they are afraid of losing their main source of income, resulting in their continued silence and prayer for the next step up the corporate ladder. Promotions are not hard to achieve.

One of the areas most employees do not consider is their own qualifications, perhaps they do not possess the skills needed to take the next step that is offered to a coworker. Instead, their silence tends to project an illusion of a faithful, happy employee who never complains, thus making the employer feel you are happy exactly where you are. Without having a voice to voice exactly what you can bring to the company your employer will never know nor take a second look. They know they can rely on you to do the job you were hired without complaint and they have no desire to look further. The best way to bring forth the raise or next step in your career is to raise your voice and be heard.
